ode to my canon 50D

You served me well for 6 1/2 long years.   Ever faithful no matter how many times I cursed your cropped view and noisy personality.  It was because of you I learned that it really wasn’t about you it was me.   You pushed me to learn, to step back and take it all in, to slow down, to find the best scenario with our limitations – we pushed each other to be better.

I have committed to what I believe in, “no camera in the world will make up for our shortcomings in creativity and in the areas that the human mind and heart resonate”[1] – but you are showing signs of needing a rest and the time has come for us to part ways.

Thank you for these final images taken over Thanksgiving weekend, 2014

harry potter world

Took my favorite Harry Potter fan to Orlando over winter break and squeezed in a quick visit to see our dear friend at Disney.   He had been waiting for his sister to be home to enjoy the new attraction together and stay in his new favorite hotel, The Cabana Bay Resort.  The girls were thrilled to get some time to catch up and hear about each other's semesters.

disney on film

We have been to Disney more times that I can remember, so for this trip back in May I decided to only shoot one roll of film and use my iPhone.  BEST.IDEA.EVER.   Other than how lightweight it was to carry my film camera, these may just be some of my favorite Disney images from all our trips combined.   They feel like the images from my childhood trips and I think my vinyl record loving kids indulge me a bit more when its film.
